I hate Kool-Aid. It’s nothing but sugar and artificial flavoring. Not good for you, rots your teeth, creates wacky glycemic imbalances, makes your tongue red or green or whatever.
I hate the other version of Kool-Aid too, i.e., that libation that once you drink, it forever brands you a zealot. A Manichean. A card-carrying nut ball, spewing foam-at-the-mouth diatribes either for or against your chosen Kool-Aid flavor.
I drink no one’s Kool-Aid. That’s for the weak minded and the lazy. I am not an absolutist. I seek reasoned positions. Let’s go lofty . . . an Aristotelian, “for the common good.”
I get a little hot when someone accuses me of drinking the Kool-Aid. I wrote a post recounting the things Obama’s got that Bush ain’t. So, now all of a sudden I’m drinking the Obama Kool-Aid.
Nothing could be further from that flitting hummingbird of truth.
What’s wrong with you people? How can the mere mention of a man’s name set you off like that? You need help. You’re the one’s slurping the Kool-Aid . . . not me.

Well said Ron. Aristotelian, in fact! Occasionally I get frustrated with the fringe opinions and lose my cool. Thanks for your centricity.

Wow, if you absolutely condemn the phrase coming at you how can you possibly finish your screed by hurling it back. That's about as un-Aristotelian as it gets. Your initial post "recounting the things Obama’s got that Bush ain’t" – was in fact, debatable and lacking objective evidence – neither pithy or persuasive.
I don't know about the Kool-Aid part from the original commenter or in your rebuttal and return accusation. There has been a charge and now a counter charge - two people accusing each other of the same thing. Suffice it to say, neither person has distinguished themselves in systemizing deductive logic – something Aristotle truly was about.

Maybe now someone on the other side of the politic spectrum knows what it's like to be constantly accused of being: racist, homophobic, sexist....on and on and on just for having an opinion thats different. What's with all the talk about "Diversity", "Inclusion" etc. Maybe someone will finally realize that all that talk is nothing but just that. The left needs to start putting action behind those much hollow words they like to spew.
I don't attack others for their beliefs, to each their own, but for God's sake can't both sides for once get together and do something for everyone. Not just their own narrow self interests.
There's a lot of people out there who have given up because each side only has their own agenda and never will the two meet. It's called compromise for the interest of all not just "my way or the highway".

Love it, Gary. But, please. For the love of God, don't hold back. Tell us how you feel.
