Investment Advisor magazine, a publication for independent advisors and financial planners, announced that Plymouth-based ActiFi, Inc., founder and CEO Spenser Segal has been named to the ninth annual IA 25, which honors 25 people that have the most influence on the advisor community.
Minneapolis law firm Dorsey & Whitney, LLP, has been named to Yale Law Women’s Top 10 Family Friendly Firms List for 2011. This is the third time Yale Law Women has chosen Dorsey as a Top 10 family friendly law firm.
Two local manufacturers—Maple Grove-based Timesavers, Inc., and Plymouth-based Olympic Steel—were honored with safety awards from the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International. Timesavers received a 2011 Safety Award of Honor and Olympic Steel received a 2011 Safety Award of Merit.
Bloomington-based Fastsigns, a sign and graphics company, has received a 2011 Best in Business Award in the quality of life category. Presented by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Best in Business Award honors members of the business community that support and accelerate the region.
The Printing Industry Midwest presented its annual Star of Excellence Awards, which recognizes outstanding leadership, customer service, production, and printed materials. The 2011 Graphic Arts Industry Leader of the Year Award was presented to David Baumgardner, chief financial officer at Smyth Companies in St. Paul. The People’s Choice was presented to The John Roberts Company in Coon Rapids, Derynn Meyer of IWCO Direct in Chanhassen received the 3rd Annual Customer Service Representative of the Year Award, and Mike Farr of GLS Companies in Brooklyn Park received the 2nd Annual Production Professional of the Year Award. The Star of Excellence Best of Show award winner was Bolger Vision Beyond Print in Minneapolis.
